Soon after graduating from college, I couldn't wait to land my first job in Los Angeles. My first national show was "Home and Family" taped right on the Universal Studios Lot. I was in TV heaven! I was the Talent Executive Assistant. I helped to coordinate and write all of the celebrity segments.
During my time in L.A., I also was a producer for Lifetime TV, MTV and USA Network.
While I enjoyed the excitement of the entertainment world, I then decided to pursue my news career. My first anchor/reporting job was in Cheyenne, Wyoming. I'm originally a farm girl from Thermopolis, Wyoming. So, I was thrilled to be getting back to my roots. While in Cheyenne, I launched a brand new morning show, "Rush Hour." I also anchored in Casper, Wyoming.
Now, I'm staying put for good! I have had my eyes set on the Denver market for years. Not only do I get to produce "Colorado and Company," but I also feature my "Meals in a Rush" segment every Thursday. You can check out my website at www.MealsInARush.com or Facebook me at "Meals in a Rush." Then each Friday, I highlight community events during "Rushin' Around ." It's a great honor to fill-in host when Denise has the day off! Another highlight at Channel 9, is receiving a Heartland Emmy for my interview with former Governor Bill Ritter and First Lady, Jeannie Ritter about their life in Africa. I guess it's easy to say, landing this job at Channel 9 is a dream come true!
